The Museum’s on-ship camp program, Camp Intrepid, offers fun, exciting and educational hands-on activities for children between the ages of 5 and 13 and is offered during the school year in coordination with New York City schools’ week-long breaks. Children at Camp will enjoy activities based on Intrepid’s themes of history, sea, space and aviation, while gaining exclusive access to exhibits, artifacts and the Space Shuttle Pavilion all on board Intrepid!

This year we offer four weeks* of camp:

  • February 17-21, 2014 (Kids Week)
  • March 17-21, 2014
  • March 24-28, 2014
  • April 14-18, 2014

Key Facts
  • Camp runs 9:00am to 5:00pm, with the option of early drop-off at 8:30am and late dismissal of 5:30pm.
  • Camp takes place on the Intrepid Museum in our education spaces.
  • Transportation to camp is the responsibility of the child’s family.
  • We are a nut-free camp.
  • Snacks are provided to campers twice a day.
  • Campers can bring lunch or pre-order nut-free lunches through the Intrepid Museum.
  • Depending on the size of the camp, children will be split into two groups based on age: 5-7 and 8-13.
  • Children can sign up for the whole week or by day for Camp during school breaks.
  • Temporary parking can be arranged for easy drop-off and pick-up of campers.

Kids Week February 17-21, 2014

Each day will feature a new theme, and kids can participate in interactive activities, watch live performances from Broadway’s best, or enjoy face-painting, temporary tattoos, balloon animals, and more!

Life at Sea March 24-28, 2014 Catapult yourself back in time and learn the skills you needed to be a sailor on the USS Intrepid. Investigate how sailors lived, worked and played through artifact investigations and hands-on projects.
Dark Side of the Moon April 14-18, 2014 Investigate how the moon, sun and earth’s rotation affect our everyday lives. Create solar ovens, shadow art and much more!
Pricing and Registration

Early Bird Weekly Rate: $450
For the week of February 17-21, the Early Bird Rate must be paid by February 7. For the other sessions, the Early Bird Rate must be paid by March 7. Early Bird Rates are only available for full week sessions, not for the daily rate.

Weekly rates: $500
Daily rates: $125
Siblings and Family Museum Members receive a 10% discount on weekly registrations only.
