The Education Department provides materials for teachers to use to prepare students for their museum experience, enhance learning after the visit, and to extend learning beyond the one time encounter with the Intrepid.

Pre-Visit Materials
Pre-Visit Materials

A valuable resource for teachers who have scheduled upcoming trips to the Intrepid. Use them to enhance vocabulary, orient your class to the ship, and provide some fun facts to get students excited for their visit. Available in PDF format.

Post-Visit Materials
Post-Visit Materials

These materials are designed to reinforce and enhance learning and key concepts from student tours and workshops. As with our educational programs, these resources support New York State Standards in Science, Social Studies, Math and English Language Arts. Available in PDF format.

Lessons Extensions
Lesson Extensions

Created with your curriculum needs in mind, these lessons can be used to augment a visit to the Intrepid or be used as stand-alone lessons to enhance classroom learning. More lessons coming soon! Available in PDF format.

Intrepid Adventures

Tour the decks, paddle down the Hudson, build an aircraft, and more on Intrepid Adventures, an interactive website for kids made possible by the Tawani Foundation.

If you have scheduled a trip to the Intrepid and require hard-copy materials, please contact our Education Department at 646-381-5163 or educationprograms@intrepidmuseum.org. Please indicate the date and time of your visit.
