Intrepid 101
 
Tour Description: This 60-minute tour highlights the history of USS Intrepid from 1943 to 1974 and beyond. Your tour will include the ship's historic forecastle, the hangar deck, where aircraft were maintained and stored, and the flight deck which saw the launching of thousands of aircraft.

This tour will grant access to areas of the museum which are off limits to the general public, as well as share stories of the museums aircraft collection. Weather permitting.

Suggested: Visitors ages 8 and up

Tour Price: $300

This tour is wheelchair accessible but does require long periods of walking and standing. The Intrepid Museum offers seating along the hangar and flight deck levels.

Planes Explained
 
Tour Description: Lockheed Blackbird. F-14 Tomcat. Grumman Avenger. MiG-21. F-16 Viper. On this 60-minute tour you'll go "behind the barriers" for an up-close look at these and other legendary aircraft. You'll learn the basics of flight, how different designs affect aircraft performance, how helicopters work, how to land on an aircraft carrier and what the future of aviation holds.

Suggested: Visitors ages 8 and up

Salty Talk
 
Tour Description: This funny, enlightening, family-friendly, 90-minute tour will leave you saying, "Wow! I did not know that!" We'll explore the origins of everyday terms like "shake a leg" and "under the weather," and explore how America's iconic brands like A-1 steak sauce got their names! As a bonus, each guest will receive a souvenir activity sheet to help remember the remarkable words discussed.

With Bravery and Distinction
 
Tour Description: This 90-minute tour celebrates the accomplishments of African-Americans who were pioneers in the areas of sea, air and space. The tour will lead you back in time, highlighting many inspirational stories of men and women who heroically broke through barriers, paving the way for future generations. Stories include those of USS Intrepid's Gun Tub-10, the brave ship stewards who fought to save Intrepid from a kamikaze attack; Jesse Brown, the U.S. Navy's first African-American combat pilot who lost his life during the Korean War; U.S. Navy officer Dick Turpin, an African-American diver who is credited with inventing the underwater cutting torch used at Pearl Harbor; Robert Lawrence, the first African-American astronaut who in 1967 was part of the Gemini MOL (Manned Orbital Laboratory) program; and many more.

Intrepid Women
 
Tour Description: This is a 90-minute tour that shares the stories of trailblazing women and their accomplishments in sea, air and space over the past seventy years. From "Rosie the Riveter" to the first women in space, this tour will share the insight into the female spirit, summed up by the iconic phrase "WE CAN DO IT!"

Pacific War
 
Tour Description: "Pacific War," a 100-minute Guided Tour, tells the story of USS Intrepid and the ship's men during World War II. From 1943 to 1945 Intrepid participated in the greatest naval campaign in world history.

Armed with state-of-the-art planes and crewed by more than 3,000 sailors, the "Fighting I" won hard fought victories against Imperial Japan in the Pacific theater. From the raid at Truk Atoll, to the Battle of Leyte Gulf, to the invasion of Okinawa, Intrepid's men helped transform the names of little known Pacific islands into symbols of American courage and sacrifice.

Pacific War is not wheelchair accessible as it requires guests to navigate stairs and ladders as well as long as periods of walking and standing. The Intrepid Museum offers seating along the hangar and flight deck levels.

Enterprise
 
Tour Description: For 30 years, NASA's revolutionary space shuttles launched as rockets, orbited the earth as versatile spacecraft, and glided to landings as airplanes. On this 60-minute tour of the Space Shuttle Pavilion, we get up-close and in-depth with Enterprise, the first space shuttle and one of only four in existence. We explore the triumphs and tragedies of the shuttle program, examine a space-flown Russian Soyuz capsule, and learn about present and future ventures in space travel.

Note: Access to the interior of Enterprise is not permitted.

Concorde
 
Tour Description: This unique 60-minute Guided Tour of Concorde G-BOAD will introduce you to the fastest passenger aircraft to ever cross the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about the aerodynamic advancements responsible for this technological marvel, designed in the 1960's and operational until 2003.

This tour offers guests the rare opportunity to experience the comfort of Concorde's luxurious first cabin, followed by an up-close view of the aircraft's stunningly complex flight deck.

Suggested: Visitors ages 10 and up

Tour Price: $450

Due to the nature of the tour and limited space within the Concorde, children age 6 and under will not be permitted for this tour. The Concorde tour is not wheelchair accessible, as it requires guests to navigate stairs. Majority of the tour is seated, though there are portions that require walking and standing.
