FORMER MAYOR DAVID DINKINS TO SPEAK WITH
NYC YOUTH AT INTREPID SEA, AIR & SPACE MUSEUM

Former Mayor David Dinkins will speak with more than 200 New York City middle school students on Tuesday, May 11th from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue), Manhattan.

The students, who represent 35 schools throughout the five boroughs, are finalists in the Teaching Matters’ Voices & Choices program which gives students opportunities to speak out against social injustices.  The program is comprised of several competitions ranging from debates to a collaborative group project, where students will give presentations on what they believe are the most important Constitutional issues of the past decade.  The multimedia presentations will take place at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where they will be judged by their peers and prominent members of the community.

Dinkins will advise students how to find their voices within their communities and effectively combat social injustices.
