Michael McMahon will join I.S. 61 students as the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum ushers in their education program to Staten Island as part of the Cultural After School Initiative (CASA) on
Thursday, April 17, 1:30 PM, I.S. 61 William A. Morris, 445 Castleton Avenue, Staten Island.
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is one of four participating institutions that received part of the $100,000 grant that Councilman McMahon funded on Staten Island as part of the Cultural After School Initiative. The funds provided by Councilman McMahon assists students’ interest and understanding of the Intrepid’s cultural history during WWII and her connection to the history and study of aeronautics in the United States.
The program is sponsored by the Department of Youth and Community Development in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York City Council that provides a wide array of cultural experiences to youth enrolled in after school programs.
