ANNOUNCES BREITLING AS AN OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF
FLEET WEEK AT THE INTREPID MUSEUM
*****
One of the Breitling Jet Team L39-C Albatros Jets to be Displayed on the Ship’s Aircraft Elevator During Fleet Week 2016
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum today announced that the independent Swiss watch brand Breitling has been named as an official sponsor of Fleet Week at the Intrepid Museum. Fleet Week will take place May 25–30, 2016.
To kick off the partnership, one of the Breitling Jet Team’s L39-C Albatros jets will be craned onto Intrepid’s port side aircraft elevator on May 23, where it will remain for the duration of Fleet Week. Breitling established the Jet Team over 13 years ago to celebrate their passion for aviation and share it with fans across the world. The Breitling Jet Team’s performance mirrors the style, power, precision, and elegance of Breitling’s watches. The Breitling Jet Team is the largest professional civilian jet team in the world, comprised of seven pilots flying L-39 C Albatros jets, reaching speeds of 565 mph and flying within just a few feet of each other.
The Breitling Jet Team will be available to greet the public on the flight deck of the Intrepid Museum on Thursday, May 26 from 10:00am to noon. Media interviews will take place, along with a special guest appearance from former NASA astronaut, Captain Scott J. Kelly, USN (Ret.) from 9:00am to 10:00am (press only).
In addition to the Museum’s Fleet Week celebration, Breitling will also sponsor the Museum’s 25th Anniversary Salute to Freedom gala on Thursday, May 26. Among this year’s honorees is former NASA astronaut, Captain Scott J. Kelly, USN (Ret.), who recently returned from one year at the International Space Station.
