The Intrepid Summer Movie Series, sponsored by Coca Cola, returns this summer with a selection of six feature films. Members of the public are invited to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets to the Intrepid Museum to view the films outdoors, free of charge, on a huge inflatable screen on the Flight Deck of the historic aircraft carrier located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue). The movie series will open with the annual screening of Top Gun on Friday, May 26, kicking off Memorial Day weekend. Doors open at 7:00pm and the movie will begin at sunset.
The lineup for the 2017 Intrepid Summer Movie Series is:
Friday, May 26: Top Gun
Tuesday, July 11: Good Morning, Vietnam
Tuesday, July 18: Anchorman
Tuesday, July 25: Cocktail
Tuesday, August 1: The Martian
Tuesday, August 8: Back to the Future
Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Food and beverages are available for purchase onsite. Alcohol is not permitted on Intrepid’s flight deck. All exits are final; there is no reentry allowed.
Prior to the doors opening, Guided Tours of the submarine Growler, the Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Pavilion will be available at 6:00pm. Tours require a non-refundable ticket and take place rain or shine.
Intrepid Museum members will receive priority access to the screenings. The Intrepid Museum strives to make all public programs accessible for people with disabilities and these films are all captioned for the hearing impaired.

Directions by NYC Metro Bus:
Take cross-town buses west. M34 (34th Sts), M42 (42nd St.) or M-50 (49th St.) to 12th Ave. and Hudson River. Intrepid is a short walk north from the M34 and M42. The M50 drops off immediately in front of the Intrepid.
Directions by NYC Metro Subway:
Take the A, C, E, N, Q, R, S, 1, 2, 3 or 7 train to 42nd St., then walk or take the M-42 West Bus to Hudson River (12th Ave). Walk North to Intrepid.
Directions from Water:
Take New York Water Taxi to Pier 84 and walk a block north to the Intrepid Museum. Or from New Jersey take the New York Waterway to Midtown (38th Street) and walk north on 12th Ave to the museum.
