MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY AT INTREPID SEA, AIR & SPACE MUSEUM
Lieutenant General David H. Huntoon, Jr., Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and Raymond W. Kelly, NYPD Commissioner, will join Susan Marenoff-Zausner, President of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at the Museum’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27, from 11:00 AM – Noon at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue), Manhattan.
U.S. Navy Sailors, Members of the Intrepid Former Crew Members Association and veterans from around the tri-state area will attend the event, and participate in the unfurling of a 100-foot American Flag as part of the ceremony. The formal program will also include a the singing of the National Anthem by American Idol contestant Ayla Brown, a traditional wreath laying into the Hudson River, the playing of Taps and a 3-volley rifle salute.
