More than 400 pipers and drummers are expected to participate in the “Pipefest Global Challenge” and attempt to break the world record and become the largest band to ever perform on a ship on Saturday, August 7th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on the flight deck of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue), Manhattan.
More than 10,000 pipers and drummers worldwide will participate in “Pipefest Global Challenge,” which will benefit several cancer and veteran charities. Proceeds raised at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, an organization that supports military families through direct support and the construction of research and rehabilitation facilities like the Center for the Intrepid in San Antonio, Texas and the National Intrepid Center of Excellence in Bethesda, Maryland.
