HONOR MILITARY HEROES AT ANNUAL VETERANS’ DAY CEREMONY
*****
CEREMONY IN FRONT OF DIGNITY MEMORIAL® VIETNAM WALL
TO INCLUDE COMMEMORATIVE WREATH LAYING IN HUDSON RIVER

Hundreds of Veterans – including former crew members of the USS Intrepid – are expected to attend the annual Veterans’ Day ceremony honoring our nation’s military service members on Friday, November 11th from 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue) in Manhattan.

The tribute – which will be held on Intrepid’s pier – will include the presentation of the National Colors and the annual commemorative wreath laying in the Hudson River. Remarks will be made by Major General William Waff, Commanding General, 99th Regional Support Command, and Susan Marenoff-Zausner, President of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

The ceremony will take place in front of the Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall, a traveling Memorial that is open to the public, at no cost, until Sunday, November 20 on Pier 86.  The wall stands eight feet tall and stretches 240 feet long. It is inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died in combat or are currently listed as missing in Vietnam.  Since its creation in 1990 by the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, the traveling monument has been displayed in more than 200 cities across the country.

The Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall is sponsored by these local funeral providers: Riverside Memorial Chapel, Frank E. Campbell The Funeral Chapel, Andrett Funeral Home, Chas. Peter Nagel Funeral Directors, Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home and Gramercy Park Memorial Chapel.
