On August 1st and 2nd The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum saluted the United States Coast Guard with a special weekend of displays and demonstrations.
On Saturday, a special search and rescue demonstration was performed by the USCG from Air Station Cape Cod. Visitors watched as Coast Guardsmen were rescued from the Hudson River demonstrating different techniques and maneuvers. Throughout the weekend, visitors were also able to visit with local USCG units and learn about the equipment and responsibilities of the Coast Guard through displays on the pier.
All members of the USCG were granted free admission to the Museum with discounts for family members and guests.
