
On Thursday, February 10th, Intrepid Museum will welcome Dr. Terry Hamblin as the first speaker in its 2011 Focus on History Lecture Series.
In his lecture, Selling America, Dr. Hamblin will examine the United States’ use of radio propaganda in Western Europe during the Cold War. The program will demonstrate how the United States sought to “sell America,” combat Communism, and project its ideals and policies to foreign audiences.
As a historian, Dr. Hamblin has presented a number of scholarly papers and lectures and has published a number of reviews and articles on topics relating to United States history, cultural diplomacy, and foreign relations. Dr. Terry Hamblin teaches history and economics at SUNY Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. in United States History from Stony Brook University.
Dr. Hamblin’s lecture is supported by a grant from the New York Council for the Humanities.
Selling America will run from 7:00pm – 8:30pm in the Allison and Howard Lutnick Theater at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The Focus on History Lecture Series is FREE to the public. |
