On Read Across America Day, the Intrepid Museum hosted former New York Knicks player John Starks for a reading of The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. After the reading, children were invited to make their own Dr. Seuss hat and whiskers.
This special event is celebrated annually on March 2—Dr. Seuss’s birthday—to show children the joy of reading. To join the celebration, the Museum partnered with the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit that works with the Madison Square Garden Company and MSG Networks to provide unforgettable experiences for children facing obstacles.
