As a fourth generation member of the Fisher family – one of New York's legendary owner/builders – Steven Fisher devoted 35 years as a Fisher Brothers partner to construction and development. He oversaw construction and design for all Fisher Brothers property acquisitions and development, having previously served as Chairman and CEO of Fisher Brothers subsidiary Plaza Construction Corporation.
A hallmark of the Fisher family is their deep philanthropic commitment to community, and Mr. Fisher was steeped in that tradition. He joined the Museum’s board in 1999, and helped support the institution’s programming while serving as chair and honorary chair of its Salute to Freedom gala. He was also a trustee of the New York State Trooper Foundation, a board member of the Police Athletic League, a member of the Founder's Circle of the New York City Police Museum, and a member of the Board of Managers for UrbanAmerica's Urban II partnership with Fisher Brothers.
Steven’s late son Michael is the namesake for the Museum’s Michael Tyler Fisher Center for Education.
We offer our sincere condolences to the entire Fisher family.
