The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum kicked off the Halloween Weekend on Thursday, October 28th with Linda Allan of Creations by Linda and a 689 pound pumpkin! Over Thursday and Friday, Ms. Allan carved the super-sized gourd into a ghoulish Intrepid aviator. The pumpkin was kept on display throughout the weekend and served as inspiration to children of all ages who visited the Intrepid’s Pumpkin Patch.
On Saturday and Sunday, guests were invited to pick a pumpkin and create their very own jack o’ lantern. Kids also created spooky cards and crafts while enjoying Halloween candy.
The Intrepid encouraged both children and adults to arrive dressed for the occasion by offering 50% OFF the price of admission. A face painter was on hand to add just the right finishing touches to visitors’ costumes. Even the museum’s staff joined in on the Halloween fun, dressing up like ghouls, butterfly catchers and deep sea divers.
The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum is already looking forward to next Halloween…Boo!
