The Intrepid Museum strives daily to fulfill its mission to honor our heroes—those among us who have strengthened our nation through acts of courage and sacrifice. Today, we remember the bravery and selflessness of those who lost their lives after the attacks on September 11, 2001.
We choose to honor these heroes in unity with and service to our fellow Americans.
On Tuesday, September 11, thousands of New Yorkers will join together at the Museum to participate in a 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance project. Together, volunteers will pack more than 750,000 meals for people in need.
9/11 Day has grown to become the nation’s largest annual day of charitable engagement, with over 30 million participants across the country coming together to pay tribute through service to their communities. At the Intrepid Museum, we are humbled and honored to be a part of this effort to continue the legacy of the lives lost.
