NY Ranger Ruslan Fedotenko poses with some of the youth hockey players
The NY Rangers, in conjunction with the NYC Parks and Recreation Department and Coca-Cola, hosted a youth hockey event last weekend here at Intrepid’s Pier 86. The event was in celebration of the success of their new program, which provided free indoor hockey clinics for 500 youth in NYC, and aimed to advocate the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
Twelve youth hockey teams competed in a tournament on the pier and museum guests were invited to watch as well as participate in the Rangers Skill Zone to help sharpen their own hockey skills. And current and alumni Ranger players – including Ruslan Fedotenko, Rod Gilbert, Brian Mullen, Nic Fotiu and Ron Duguay were on hand to offer encouragement and pointers to the kids.
