As Women’s History Month continues this March, so does Intrepid’s Salute to Women.
This Saturday, Intrepid will wrap up Women in Arts Week with author Maureen Sullivan and illustrator Alison Josephs. Starting at noon, Sullivan and Josephs will lead a reading of their book Custard and Mustard.
Custard and Mustard, part of the award-winning Carlos Series of children’s books including: Ankle Soup and Christmas Feet, follows French Bulldog Carlos as he explores New York City. Josephs and Sullivan’s work focuses on the Big Apple, its amusing characters and unique energy.
Both author and illustrator will remain after the reading to lead a discussion about publishing opportunities and careers for girls (and boys)!
Weekend programming will continue with Sunday, March 13th’s launch of Women in Health and Fitness Week. Guests will be able to sample Yoga, Pilates and Zumba classes hosted by some of NYC’s best studios and spas, including, but not limited to: Caravan of Yogis, Power Pilates, Pure Yoga, Exhale Spa and Alvin Ailey.
Other New York City fitness moguls will be on hand like, New York Sports Club, Team in Training, Asphalt Green, New York Road Runners and more! For a complete listing of Intrepid’s Health and Fitness Partners, please visit: http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/SalutetoWomen.aspx.
