Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. While grades are important, we want girls who are interested in STEM (even a little bit). Having different types of girls with different interest levels and abilities is what makes the whole group more vibrant and enables participants to learn from each other.

We cover topics such as aviation, aerospace, engineering, marine science, technology, computer coding and so much more.

Each day is different, but every session includes hands-on activities, group projects, exploring the Museum, and hearing from guest speakers. Typically the program takes place right here at the Museum, but there will also be field trips to other exciting locations throughout the summer.

Every summer varies, but past field trips have included Columbia University, Hudson River Park Wet Lab, Bryn Mawr College, American Museum of Natural History, Brooklyn Navy Yard and kayaking at Pier 84.

While we strive to give everyone the same opportunities, this program is for girls only. We do invite you to join us for our teen events, which are open to all teens and youth. Find more information here.
