Business Development
Manager - Business Development

The Intrepid Museum seeks a skilled, detail-oriented and experienced Manager – Business Development to join our team. This role reports directly to the SVP of Business Development. The Manager of Business Development provides project support to the Business Development Department in order to assist the Museum in monetizing its assets and programs.

Education
Museum Program Educator - Per Diem

The Intrepid Museum seeks a Per Diem Educators for delivering onsite programs that make use of the Museum’s collection to engage K12 students, families and adults, including individuals with cognitive, sensory, physical, emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Museum Educator (Part-Time)

The Intrepid Museum seeks a Part Time Educator (29hrs per week) for delivering on and off-site and virtual programs that make use of the Museum’s collection to engage K-12 students, families and adults, including individuals with cognitive, sensory, physical, emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Teaching Artist - Per Diem Educator

A Teaching Artist (bilingual) is sought for delivering in-person programs for individuals with dementia and their care partners at memory care centers, nursing homes, senior centers, and other sites across New York City through June 2024. Teaching Artist will customize and carry out arts programming inspired by or connected to the Intrepid Museum’s history and collections. Programming will include multi-session “residencies” and one-off programs. Teaching artist will receive professional development in working with this audience, but some experience and/or familiarity with this audience is strongly preferred. Teaching artists with training and experience in visual art, music, and/or movement are encouraged to apply. Hours are varied (primarily weekday), so a flexible schedule is a must.

Manager - Interpretation & Engagement

Intrepid Museum Education Department is seeking a Manager of Interpretation & Engagement. Reporting to the Director of Lifelong Learning, the incumbent collaborates across departments to ensure quality educational opportunities for all ages delivered by Visitor Experience Specialists, Volunteers, and Educators. The Manager of Interpretation and engagement provides content and interpretation expertise and supports other Intrepid team members in providing a variety of services that enhance the experience of the museum as a center for history and innovation through engaging audiences with its exhibits and its collections.

 

Exhibits
Aerospace Curator

The Intrepid Museum seeks an Aerospace Curator who will provide curatorial expertise on aerospace history and technology, with an emphasis on the Museum’s collection of 28 aircraft and a prototype space shuttle orbiter. This position leads the research, planning and development of exhibition content and collaborates with Exhibit Design on the implementation of temporary, long-term and interactive exhibitions pertaining to aerospace subjects and other topics.

Project Coordinator

The Intrepid Museum is currently seeking a Project Coordinator who is responsible for helping conceptualize and oversee multiple projects within our organization and provide administrative support to the Chief of Staff.

IT
IT Coordinator

The IT Coordinator will be responsible for controlling the flow of information in and out of the IT department. They will serve as the first contact point for the department for our internal and external customers, business partners, and vendors. The individual will be responsible for ordering IT supplies, facilities, and resources for the department, working closely with the VP of IT, and adhering to strict financial processes established by the CFAO. This includes the processing of all invoices and resolving billing discrepancies in a timely manner.  Additionally, they will manage and maintain all IT assets in compliance with our internal audit controls and grant funding policies. The IT Coordinator is also responsible for setting up inter-departmental meetings and documenting meeting minutes for dissemination to all participants. The IT Coordinator MUST adhere to strict confidentiality at all times.

Security
Security Officer

The Intrepid Museum is currently seeking Security Officers to become an integral part of our team to guard the Museum property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.

Box Office Representative (Seasonal/Part-Time)

As a vital part of the Visitor Services team, the Part Time/Seasonal Visitor Services Ambassador, Box Office provides the first impression and the last interaction for visiting guests.

Museum Floor Staff (Seasonal/Part-Time)

As a vital part of the Visitor Services team, the Part Time/Seasonal Visitor Services Ambassador, Floor provides the first impression and the last interaction for visiting guests.
