Intrepid Museum Co-Chairman Ken Fisher’s Announces Plans for the Nation’s Semiquincentennial in 2026 with Sail 4th 250

Jul 08, 2025 - 12:00pm

The Intrepid Museum stands as a testament to American service, ingenuity and resilience. The ship and the personal stories of its crewmembers are our north star…a powerful springboard to teach people of all ages about history and innovation. We inspire the next generation to reach great heights – instilling that the American dream is possible with hard work, education and dedication.

As we look ahead to the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, we are proud to partner with Sail4th 250 to help shape a national celebration worthy of this historic milestone. The vision to bring tall ships from across the globe to New York Harbor in 2026 is not only a powerful tribute to our maritime heritage, but a profound symbol of international friendship, unity and shared values.

We greatly look forward to being a hub for activities throughout next year’s celebration.
