Intelius Contributes $25,000 to Intrepid Museum Foundation's Power of One Program
Leading information commerce company Intelius has partnered with the Intrepid Museum Foundation to contribute $25,000 to its Power of One educational program. Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) March 16, 2010 -- Intelius - a leading information commerce company that empowers consumers and businesses with information to make intelligent decisions about personal safety and security - has partnered with the Intrepid Museum Foundation to contribute $25,000 to its Power of One educational program. Power of One is Intrepid's eminent speaker series in which prominent members of the community speak to students about their life experiences and how they have used them to reach success, or sometimes to simply survive under extremely challenging circumstances.
Intelius' support of the Power of One program is in keeping with the company's commitment to important nonprofit organizations, particularly those focusing on education and youth. In 2009, Intelius donated $369,157 to more than a dozen local and national nonprofit organizations.
"Intelius recognizes the importance of educating and fostering the growth of tomorrow's leaders, which is core to Power of One's mission. Together, with Power of One, we hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people," said Naveen Jain, Intelius Founder and CEO.
Speakers at Power of One events have included NASA astronauts Scott Carpenter and Michael Massimino; dynamic survivors of armed conflict, including Colonel Boggs, Dr. Roscoe Brown, POW pilot Dave Carey; members of the athletic community; and leaders in the entertainment industry such as director Spike Lee. This spring, Power of One will host three speaking events, welcoming guests like Vietnam veteran decorated pilot Dave Carey, Jet Propulsion Laboratories' Randii Wesson and a panel of accomplished graphic artists.
"We welcome Intelius to the Museum family of partners and they have already been a wonderful advocate for and supporter of the Intrepid Museum Foundation. With the company's support, we look forward to offering a great speakers series this spring that we hope will touch the lives of the leaders of the next generation," added Susan Marenoff, Executive Director, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

ABOUT POWER OF ONE
The Intrepid Museum's Power of One program allows students to meet and hear from community members who share their experiences and insights about the challenges to achieve success, the importance of civic involvement and a love of their country. It is based on the notion that a single event can change a young person's life or start them on the road to change. Since the Intrepid Museum has been closed for renovations, the Intrepid Sails program is bringing the Power of One to the students at other locations. The Power of One program is consistent with the mission of the Intrepid to "honor our heroes, educate the public and inspire our youth."
