Got Friday plans? Spend your summer evening at the Intrepid Museum—on us! On Friday, July 25, from 5:00pm–9:00pm, the Museum extends its hours free of charge for Free Friday, featuring special programming, after-hours access, and the return of the popular Summer Movie Series.
This year’s films dive deep into the mysteries of the ocean, inspired by the Museum’s newest exhibition, Mysteries From the Deep: Underwater Archaeology. From high-seas adventures to underwater discoveries, each movie explores humanity’s fascination with the deep.
Kicking off a monthly lineup of ocean-themed films, July’s event features The Abyss on the flight deck. Settle in for an unforgettable movie night under the stars. Bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and blankets to watch the film on a giant inflatable screen with stunning views of the Hudson River and city skyline. The movie begins at sunset.
Doors open at 5:00pm. Last entry is at 8:30pm (subject to early closure based on capacity). All guests must enter through the Welcome Center to receive a ticket before entering the Museum.
* American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available for the demonstration, featured speaker, and some of the educator cart. Movie will also have open captions.
