Celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the Intrepid Museum, July 3–7! Throughout the weekend, enjoy musical performances and explore a variety of military displays, activities, and demonstrations from the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Naval Research, and more.

This is a timed-entry event, and reservations are required. Hours are subject to change. Please check back for the most up-to-date schedule. More tickets may become available. Tickets are non-transferable.
This legendary Italian Navy training ship has sailed the world since 1931 and is often called "the most beautiful ship in the world."

HMS GLADAN is a 129-foot-long, two-masted topsail schooner homeported in Karlskrona, Sweden.

Amerigo Vespucci TOUR CHANGES
Please note that the Amerigo Vespucci Tall Ship has informed the Museum that they will be closing early today. The last entry into the Amerigo Vespucci line will be at 4:30 PM today (Monday, July 6). If you have reservations for 4:30 PM and 5 PM time slots, please plan to arrive prior to 4:30 PM so we can try to accommodate your visit. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Arrival & Entry
- All visitors must pass through a security screening before entering Pier 86.
- All Tall Ship queues are located on Pier 86.
- Tickets are non-transferable and may only be used by the original purchaser.
Weather Notice
- If lightning strikes within 10 miles of a Tall Ship touring venue, touring will be suspended and everyone in the area will be advised to seek shelter.
- Touring may resume 30 minutes after lightning has cleared the area.
- High winds may also require touring to be suspended. Each ship will determine the conditions under which it can operate safely.
Tour Timing - Visitors are permitted to enter the line for the Tall Ship within a 30-minute period beginning with their chosen tour time.
- Please allow extra time for security screening and potential wait times.
- If you arrive after your scheduled tour time, we will make every effort to accommodate you on the next available tour.
Visitor Requirements
- Minimum age: 5 years old.
- Guests under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Strollers, luggage, and large bags/backpacks are not permitted aboard the Tall Ships.
- Closed-toe shoes are required.

The visiting tall ships are not wheelchair accessible and require using stairs or ladders.

Tall Ship visiting hours may be modified, paused, or canceled due to operational, weather-related, or other unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the visiting vessel.
Due to high demand and capacity limitations, a reservation does not guarantee admission to Pier 86 or a Tall Ship tour.

Naval STEM: The U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (Navy Medicine) and Naval STEM Coordination Office will present an engaging look at the medical training tools used to teach life-saving skills to our sailors. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with anatomical models and see basic demonstrations of training equipment, including visual-feedback CPR manikins, IV training arms, and tactical tourniquets.
National Coast Guard Museum – Supports Coast Guard missions by inspiring and engaging with the public to celebrate the service’s members and accomplishments of the past, present, and future. Visitors will also have the opportunity for a hands-on experience with an array of Coast Guard educational artifacts.
BuildSubmarines.com – Explore the future of Maritime Manufacturing at the BuildSubmarines.com booth. Visitors can dive into the U.S. Navy’s journey to transform its nuclear-powered submarine fleet and discover how they can be part of this historic mission. At the BuildSubmarines.com booth, they’ll find resources on high-impact manufacturing careers available nationwide. Guests can also test their skills on a virtual welder, score exclusive prizes and giveaway items, and learn more about the hands-on work powering our nation’s undersea edge.
Military Transport Association: Visitors will see restored and antique military vehicles.
Naval History & Heritage Command – The Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) is the official command of the U.S. Navy responsible for preserving, analyzing, and sharing naval history, all while managing naval archives, museums, historical artifacts, and underwater archaeology to educate sailors and the public. They will be on hand to display artifacts, show how a submarine dives with a hands on activity, and encourage visitors to use their selfie station! And be on the lookout for the NHHC facility dog, Commander Bond, who salutes!
Navy Talent Acquisition Group Empire State: The Navy Talent Acquisition Group Empire State, U.S. Navy Recruiting Command, will offer participants a unique opportunity to explore the Navy through immersive virtual reality experiences. Guests will be able to walk through Naval aircraft, experience life at sea as a Sailor, and visit ports of call such as Japan and San Diego. Participants will also be encouraged to test their strength and compete for a personal best on our pull-up bar. In addition, free Navy promotional items will be available throughout the event.
WORKSHOPS & ACTIVITIES
10:00am–6:30pm – Intrepid Museum Workshop: Faces of Our Community: Visitors can create a self-portrait collage that represents the communities that shape your identity. Location: Hangar 3
11:00am–3:00pm – Aircraft Talks: Visitors can go inside the Intrepid Museum’s Aircraft Restoration Hangar on the flight deck to learn about aircraft restoration and preservation (approx. 20 minutes, on the hour). Location: Flight Deck
11:30am-6:00pm: Stage Performances
11:30am & 1:30pm: Performances from the 2nd Marine Division Brass Band: The “Rampage” Brass Band creates an expeditionary party in any environment. Named after the Division Headquarters callsign, they share an unbridled spirit in song. Loud, exciting, and full of energy, these Marine musicians will get any crowd moving. Whether a streetside serenade, school auditorium, on the playing field or a festival stage, the Rampage Brass Band brings the heat.
12:30pm & 2:30pm: Performances from United States Coast Guard Jazz Combo: delighting audiences in the United States and around the globe since 1925. In its performances, the Jazz Combo plays all musical styles, ranging from selections of the Great American Songbook to Pop, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues. The 55-member United States Coast Guard Band is the sole professional musical representative of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. The Band serves both as a symbol of the service's heritage and as a cultural ambassador for the United States at home and abroad.
3:30pm-6:00pm: Performances from The Satin Dollz - a 1940s Big Band Swing USO Act from across the United States, the lovely Satin Dollz were first brought together on one stage in 2005 with a shared mission: to deliver top tier entertainment inspired by the glamour, harmony, and heart of the WWII era USO Camp Shows. What began as a Hollywood based passion project quickly grew into an internationally celebrated vintage ensemble. Honoring veterans and preserving musical history remains central to the group’s mission.
INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES
12:00pm–4:00pm – VR Experience: Explore Intrepid: Engines and Boilers: Step into immersive 3D recreations of USS Intrepid’s engineering spaces and learn how to operate the ship’s systems. (Minimum age 10+) Location: Hangar 3

12:00pm–5:00pm – Often called the “most beautiful ship in the world,” the Amerigo Vespucci is Italy’s iconic tall ship and naval training vessel. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore this historic ship and experience its elegant design, rich maritime tradition, and enduring legacy of Italian naval excellence.
SWEDEN | HMS Gladan
12:30pm–5:00pm – The HMS Gladan is a Swedish Navy sail training ship used to train future naval officers in traditional seamanship and leadership at sea. Visitors can learn about Sweden’s maritime heritage and see firsthand how this classic tall ship continues to shape modern naval training.
URUGUAY | Capitan Miranda
1:00pm–5:00pm – The This 210-foot, three-masted Uruguayan Navy training ship was built in 1930 and later transformed into a sail training vessel in 1978
1:00pm & 3:00pm: The United States Coast Guard Silent Drill Team: is a hand-selected group of elite Ceremonial Honor Guardsmen stationed in Alexandria, Virginia. Serving as a visible symbol of the Service’s professionalism and precision, the team not only represents the Coast Guard on the national stage but also executes the full spectrum of ceremonial duties and funeral honors throughout the Military District of Washington. These highly trained, highly qualified, and highly motivated professionals embody the Ceremonial Honor Guard’s guiding principles of Pride, Poise, and Perfection, dedicating themselves to flawless execution of precision drill with fixed bayonets where every movement reflects Honor, Respect, and Devotion to duty.

STAGE PERFORMANCES
11:30am-2:00pm: Performances from the 78th Army Band : The 78th Army Band, United States Army Reserve, is a musical organization under the 99th Reserve Support Command. It was established on 1 October 2008, as part of the Army Reserve Transformation process and was posted at Fort Dix, New Jersey. In addition to its concert and ceremonial and concert bands, the 78th Army Band also features a diverse array of musical ensembles, including a jazz combo, brass quintet, Dixie-land band, and a rock band known as "Checkmate".
