Inspiration Academy: Mysteries from the Deep
For Teachers and Educators
What can students discover about the past through exploring artifacts or primary source materials?
Discover a world of learning under the surface through exploring content from our latest exhibit Mysteries from the Deep: Exploring Underwater Archaeology.
Join the Intrepid Museum for a morning of analyzing how artifacts enhance student learning as we uncover the impact of underwater archaeology on our understanding of peoples and cultures today. Learn how gallery-teaching strategies can be integrated into the classroom, as well as hearing from professionals in the underwater archaeology field.
The featured keynote speaker will be Jay V. Haigler, Registered Architect, Founding Board Member and Lead Instructor of Diving With a Purpose (DWP).
This is a virtual program. We recommend using a laptop for the best learning experience. No other materials will be needed! Virtual check-in will begin at 9:45am EDT.
This course offers 2 CTLE credits. Space is limited. Please register only if you have administrative support and can attend for the full morning.
Registration ends Monday, November 3 at 3:00pm. An email with program information will be sent 1-2 days prior to the program.

At the heart of this exploration is Jay V. Haigler, Registered Architect, Founding Board Member and Lead Instructor of Diving With a Purpose (DWP). As a leader in community-driven underwater archaeology, Jay has helped uncover and preserve submerged cultural heritage, including the poignant histories of slave ships like the Clotilda.
