Inspiration Academy: Pride in Numbers

Military policy affecting LGBTQ+ service members has shifted significantly over the past 50 years. From an outright ban to a short-lived compromise, LGBTQ+ service members can now serve openly across all branches of the military. The path to this moment, however, has been complex and its impact continues to shape the experiences of LGBTQ+ veterans.

Join the Intrepid Museum for a virtual professional development session that explores how these policies affected LGTBQ+ Navy sailors and connects that history to classroom practice. Educators will learn culturally responsive strategies to integrate diverse identities into curriculum and create classroom environments that support belonging for all students.

This program provides 2 CTLE credits. Space is limited. Please register only if you have administrative approval and can attend the full program.

Registered participants will receive a program link and details 1-2 days before the program. Virtual check-in will begin at 9:45am ET.
