Free Astronomy and Movie Night Series

About This Event

The Museum plans to resume monthly summer Free Fridays in 2026.  Each and every day residents of New York City receive a 50 percent discount on admission to the Intrepid Museum. 

For free Movie Nights, please note that only the flight deck will be accessible to the public.

MOVIE NIGHT GUIDELINES AND HELPFUL TIPS:

  • The public will only be able to access the flight deck during movie nights, the rest of the Museum complex is closed to the public.
  • Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited.
  • Light concessions will be sold onsite, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Alcohol is not permitted.
  • All exits are final; there is no reentry allowed.
  • Doors open at 6pm, but suggest you arrive earlier as it is a first come first serve and there is a capacity limit on the flight deck.
  • Doors will close at 8:30pm.
  • Movie will begin at sunset.
  • All movies will have open captions.
