Put on your dancing shoes and join the Intrepid Museum for an afternoon of dancing and engagement with music from Intrepid’s years of service (1943–1974), led by Rhythm Break Cares! Featuring a special 1940’s Radio Show performance before the Tea Dance!
During World War II, radio variety shows provided news, music, and entertainment not only to those at home, but also to the brave soldiers and sailors fighting overseas. Turn up the fun in our live studio audience as we bring to life the stories and sounds of a 1940s Armed Forces holiday radio broadcast!
The mission of Rhythm Break Cares is to provide the restorative power of music, movement, and touch to as many older adults living with Alzheimer's and dementia as possible, along with their families and caregivers. For more information about Rhythm Break Cares, find them on Facebook @rhythmbreakcares, Instagram @rbcares, and www.rbcares.org
Tea Dances are supported by a generous grant from The Mellon Foundation.
