About this event

As New York City commemorates America's 250th anniversary, the Intrepid Museum will bring history, service and innovation to life with five days of free public programming on Pier 86 from July 3-7, 2026. Set against the backdrop of the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid and the arrival of more than 50 tall ships and dozens of naval vessels from around the world, this milestone celebration offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience one of the largest international gatherings of tall ships and naval vessels ever assembled in New York Harbor.

Step aboard CAPITAN MIRANDA, Uruguay’s iconic three-masted staysail schooner and naval training vessel. Built in 1930 in Cádiz, Spain, this historic ship was originally launched as a hydrographic vessel before being transformed into a training ship in 1978. Homeported in Montevideo, Uruguay, CAPITAN MIRANDA continues to sail the world with a crew of 67 while representing Uruguay at international maritime events.
