The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum pauses to salute the memory of Daniel S. Fruchter, WWII veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor who passed away late last week. He served in the United States Army from 1939-1946, followed by a long and successful career in hospital administration that included 24 years as CEO of Union Hospital in the Bronx.
A dedicated volunteer and friend to the Intrepid Museum, Fruchter also served as the NY State Chairman of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and as keynote speaker each year at Intrepid’s annual Pearl Harbor Ceremony, where he shared his experiences and honored those who served alongside him on December 7, 1941.
His contributions to our nation and our city cannot be measured, and he will be greatly missed by the entire Intrepid family. |
