The Museum is ready for school! Here at the Museum, we offer a variety of learning opportunities for students in grades pre-K–12, professional development opportunities for educators, and programs for college students—all designed to make this school year enriching and inspiring for learners of all ages and abilities

PRE-K–12 STUDENTS
Field trips throughout the school year | The Museum’s Education Department offers programs focused on STEM and history for students in grades pre-K–12. All of them can be tailored to specific grade levels and can be modified for groups with special needs.

Space & Science Festival self-guided visits, September 20–21 | K–12 student groups can experience all the excitement of the Space & Science Festival during free self-guided experiences. These visits give students an in-depth immersion into all things space and science!

Homeschool Day: Adventures in Aviation, September 28 | The Museum invites homeschool groups to explore the historical spaces of the ship, view exhibits with a Museum educator, and participate in hands-on STEM activities to enrich their learning. The next program for homeschool groups will focus on the aircraft in the Museum’s collection—how they fly and why they are designed in certain ways.

COLLEGE STUDENTS
College Night, September 14 | College students are invited to the Museum for a night of tours, planetarium shows, trivia and flight simulator rides. It’s free and a great way to meet new other students in the city.

Tours throughout the year | The Museum offers tours exploring topics students encounter in their college courses. These tours, led by knowledgeable guides and educators, encourage critical thinking and open discussion of students’ opinions and perceptions.

TEACHERS
Space & Science Festival Professional Development, September 22 | NYC teachers are invited to a full-day conference focused on STEM learning during the Museum’s Space & Science Festival. Teachers will hear talks by guest speakers from NASA, participate in workshops led by Museum educators, and see presentations by other educational organizations.
