From Basic Training to Boot Camp: Intrepid Campers Explore Life at Sea

Summer’s Camp Intrepid will continue next week with: “Intrepid Through the Years.”

From July 11 through July 15, Campers will Travel through Intrepid’s past, exploring the 1940s through the 1970s, celebrating pop culture in every decade!

Camp Intrepid 2011, for kids ages 5 to 13, is a multi-week, full-day summer day camp jam-packed with hands-on activities, museum exhibit exploration, and interactive weekly themes that include:

  • Intrepid Through the Years: July 11 – 15
  • Ancient Navies and Armies: July 18 – 22
  • A Pirate’s Life: July 25 – 29
  • Intrepid Inventors: August 1 – 5
  • Space Trekkers: August 8 – 12
  • A Pilot’s View: August 15 – 19
  • Mission Intrepid: August 22 – 26

    Campers enjoy the fresh air and sunshine on Intrepid’s Flight Deck and Pier 86 with everything from project-based investigations, like cooking with solar ovens and constructing bottle rockets, to ship-shape activities like relay races and tug of war.  Camp Intrepid is the most unique way to Explore, Discover and Learn!
