Approximate Schedule of Plane Passing Landmarks is Below
A Douglas F4D Skyray aircraft, which served aboard Intrepid during the Cold War, will begin its journey to its new home at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City on Sunday, July 25, between 7:00 am-8:00 am at Charter Oak Landing, 50 Reserve Road, Hartford, Conn. The large aircraft will be loaded by crane from a flatbed trailer onto a barge, where it will then set off toward New York City.
The plane will dock in Manhattan overnight, and continue the last leg of its journey Tuesday morning, July 27th, where it will pass the Statue of Liberty, then make its way up the Hudson River to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
