The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is saddened at the passing of George Steinbrenner. For years, we have been the beneficiary of his never-ending and selfless support of our troops and our museum. Whether through his personal generosity by providing tickets to Yankees home games for military personnel while they were in New York for Fleet Week leave to his support of our annual Salute to Freedom dinner, George Steinbrenner was a person who treasured, respected and applauded our armed forces.
The entire Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum family expresses its deepest condolences to the Steinbrenner family and the New York Yankees and salutes a great friend and patriot.
