The Intrepid Museum's Salute to Freedom gala recognizes extraordinary leadership and honors the brave men and women who serve in defense of our nation.
Support from the gala makes possible educational experiences for more than 100,000 students each year, dynamic STEM content and free programs for veterans and military families. It also supports exhibitions that present stories of bravery and innovation, and the preservation of historical artifacts and collections in the Museum’s care.
This year's recipients were Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan, and Chair and CEO of L3Harris Technologies Christopher E. Kubasik, Secretary Phelan received the 2025 Intrepid Freedom Award in honor of his leadership of our United States Navy and United States Marine Corps and the celebration of their 250th anniversaries. Christopher E. Kubasik received the 2025 Intrepid Salute Award, which recognizes his outstanding leadership in support of national security.
