The Intrepid Museum will host its annual Kids Week festival from Saturday, February 14–Saturday, February 21. During Kids Week, proudly supported by BuildSubmarines.com and Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of New York, children of all ages and interests will learn about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math) through fun-filled activities, hands-on workshops, live animal encounters, performances, special guests and interactive demonstrations designed to educate and inspire.
Kids Week 2026 will feature programming across three core themes, including Aerospace, Arts & Culture, and Nature & STEM, offering families a wide range of engaging experiences throughout the week.
Kids Week will feature three days of aerospace-themed programming, including planetarium shows, astronaut talks, career panels and space- and aviation-related exhibits and demonstrations. Families will have opportunities to learn about space exploration, astronomy and flight, hear firsthand accounts of life in space from NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, and engage with scientists, engineers, pilots and educators through interactive experiences designed for kids of all ages.
Two days of Arts & Culture programming will celebrate creativity, storytelling and performance through live shows, author meet-and-greets, music and dance workshops, theatrical experiences and hands-on artmaking. Young visitors can explore how the arts intersect history, science and self-expression while engaging with Broadway performers, educators and cultural organizations from across New York City. Meet a variety of authors and blast off into imagination with live read-aloud tales and creative fun for the little ones, including best-selling author D.J. Steinberg, creator of the best-selling Here I Come series.
For the final two days, Nature and STEM presented by BuildSubmarines.com will invite families to connect with the natural world through live animal encounters, environmental science activities, engineering and robotics challenges, and hands-on STEM demonstrations. These programs will encourage curiosity about ecosystems, climate, conservation and innovation while empowering kids to think like scientists and problem-solvers.
This year’s Kids Week also marks an expansion of the festival, with new organizations and performers, bringing new perspectives, expertise and experiences to the Museum. Beloved returning favorites and first-time collaborators alike will offer fresh programming across all three themes, creating an even more dynamic and interdisciplinary week of discovery.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided for select stage presentations on February 15, 18 and 21.
All Kids Week activities are included with Museum admission.
