July marks Disability Pride Month—a time to honor the diversity, achievements and rights of people with disabilities. This year is especially significant, as 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the landmark civil rights law signed on July 26, 1990, that protects the rights of people with disabilities and has transformed accessibility across the United States.
The Intrepid Museum stands as a beacon of inclusion, offering a wide range of accessible programs and events that welcome everyone. This month, the Museum’s calendar is packed with engaging experiences designed with accessibility at its core. Here’s a look at some of July’s highlights and the ways the Intrepid Museum ensures everyone can participate fully.
Early Morning Opening: Picture This! Photography on Intrepid
Saturday, July 12, 2025 | 8:30am–11:00am | Free with registration

Families receive sensory bags with interactive activities, and a social narrative is provided beforehand to help prepare for the visit. The event features hands-on art, educator stations and a calm, crowd-free environment—making it a welcoming space for neurodiverse visitors.
