The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall arrived today, escorted by over 150 motorcycle riders and law enforcement from New York, New Jersey and The Port Authority.
Volunteers are working hard to assemble The Wall and get it ready for its scheduled opening, today, at 10am. The Wall will be on display on Intrepid’s Pier 86, 24/7 through November 20th and is free to the public.
In honor of Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has also recently added The Story of Intrepid: Vietnam to its extensive menu of specialized paid Guided Tours.
From 1966 to 1969, Intrepid’s airmen, supported by the ship’s crew, flew over 15,000 missions through hostile skies over Vietnam. This fascinating 90-minute tour will lead guests behind the Museum’s exhibit barriers and share famous and little-known stories of Intrepid’s service during the Vietnam War.
The Story of Intrepid: Vietnam will be offered for a limited time beginning November 10th running through November 20th. Click here for pricing and more information.
Additionally, the Museum will extend Veterans reduced Museum admission ($12.00), November 8th through 20th and free Museum admission and Guided Tours on Veterans Day, November 11th, 2011.

The Story of Intrepid: Vietnam is wheelchair accessible but does require long periods of walking and standing. The Intrepid Museum offers seating along the hangar and flight deck levels. |
